Cedar Falls- A Study in Black and White

Cedar Falls a Study in Balck and White

A well-recognized waterfall in the Hocking Hills region of Ohio.
Sometimes things just look better in  B and W. This is a case in point.

West Virginia Waterfalls

A run-off waterfalls along Rt 41 in West Virginia.  A weekend outing to the "wilds" of W.Va. resulted in this image. It had been raining all weekend and was still raining as I stood under my umbrella to take this image. The constant rain had greatly contributed to the volume of water rolling over the falls. In high summer it does not look as good.

Yellow Springs

The desire to take longer daily walk than usual
brought me to Yellow Springs.
A small town about 10 miles from home.
There are several local and state parks here.
Makes for good walking.

These are the Yellow Springs...
the town was named after them.
A large part iron in the water has formed the
distinctive yellow color on the rocks.
Moss growing down the sides gives the green
and the blue water comes from the open sky reflection.
I had never seen it in just this way before.
It is normally in the shade, but since this is winter
and several trees were lost in the big wind storm
that we had here a few months ago...I received rare
treat. Perfect light falling on the springs.

I will have to walk here more often.
Who knows what else I may find.

Dual Falls

After all the rain we have had around here
I thought it would be a good time to look at some of the waterfalls.
This is a little known falls,
just off the road that I take to pick up our Sunday pizza.

Fortunately the pizza takes 30 minutes
so it wasn't cold after my photo stop.

Well worth the time taken
wouldn't you say?

I have just printed it for my upcoming show
and wanted to share it with you.
